RELEARNING WITH STEVE

Spent a good patient year training without weight. Worked only body weight exercises and conscious movement with Nicole.

It gave me a chance to zoom in to the subtleties and nuances of my biomechanics and re-organize my mind-muscle connection. 

Just finished my first 4 weeks back at the gym and I'm feeling strong. Feeling fluid and moving with ease. I was getting injured every few weeks before this. Not worried about that anymore, solid physical upgrade.

TRAINING FROM MANY ANGLES WITH ERIN

I've been training with Nicole since mid pandemic 2020. We started on a basic strength training journey that then took a turn into focusing on Powerlifting.

I've also explored the art of handstands with Nicole. The most rewarding of all has been her kind nature, her immense amount of knowledge around nutrition and also understanding how things like grief, a pandemic, anxiety and general exhaustion can all effect ones training and eating habits .

She has be ever so patient and encouraging of me and I couldn't think of a better trainer to be with.

COMING OF AGE WITH KESTIN

Nicole and I have been working together since I was 14. Now, just about to enter my twenties, I can confidently say that a large part of the person I am is down to her, and not just physically, although that is a large part of it. My strength, both physically and emotionally is borne of her encouragement and guidance as I set goals and achieved success. I have always maintained that our sessions are both personal training and therapy sessions mixed in, the advancements I have made mentally were crucial to my physical journey. And I have to thank her, for dealing with teenage me and providing inexpressible support as I discovered the connection between body and mind and navigated being myself.

SKILLS AND REHAB WITH ALICE

I’ve been working with Nicole for several years. I love that she not only has an extensive knowledge of movements, training and nutrition, but genuinely cares about her clients. She invests in my goals and always tailors my program to help manage load, which was important for me as I not only train at the gym but dance, swim and run regularly. I feel like my program is just for me. She has helped me overcome an injury, build and now hone my handstand practice, and explore ways to extend and strengthen my traditional strength movements. Every training session with Nicole feels like an in exercise of self-care.

A LEARNING CURVE WITH CARLIE

About two and a half years ago I was struggling with pain, fatigue and bloating. I decided to engage with Nicole to focus on improving my chronic pain and general well-being.

Working with Nicole is a partnership. The first things we worked on together was my mobility and helping me to be in my body. Then we worked on my tummy issues; supporting me through a FODMAP diet to determine what foods didn’t agree with me. This was life changing and allowed me to really change my diet based on the findings and feel so much better after eating.

After a few months, my pain and gut issues were improving and so my goals changed to focus on body composition and strength. Through this process I learned so much about food; portion sizes, and macronutrients to make sure I was getting the right amount of fuel each day. Nicole taught me so much about food that I was so oblivious to and again, it’s changed my life for the better.

Working with Nicole to achieve these goals has been a fun experience. At times, it has been challenging, yet Nicole’s kindness, understanding and compassion have helped me to overcome them and feel proud of my achievements.

My transformation came when I accepted that food was an integral part of my training.”

Training with a purpose and with correct technique was something Nicole taught me. I wasn't overweight but I did carry excess body fat. My journey was one of baby steps, slowly altering eating habits, types of food I ate and being consistent with training. I learnt that scales were not so important for me but loss of centimetres were along with progress photos. Within the initial 6-week period results were obvious. Nicole created and supported me through a 30day no sugar journey, which really showed me how often I ate sugar and where my cravings were hiding. I had constant support from Nicole in whatever dilemma I had at the time insomnia, bloating ect. Nicole would research and feed me information. The best thing is that I have maintained these habits and mindset and am down a dress size.

“I am learning about the things that are holding me back”

From reaching my movement goals, to learning that I under eating and the importance of good recovery, I am working on changing my inner narrative and softening the inner critic but it takes time and Nic effectively reframes when she catches me reverting to old habits.

Nic is adaptive and has the ability to hold space for me which is a very powerful skill.  Through her tools and techniques in one particular session she was able to effectively help me to reset my nervous system. She works with non judgment and great humour.
